What does a session look like?
Movement Challenge
Each session begins with a fun and engaging movement challenge. Children have the option to participate in a quick self-challenge focusing on mobility or strength. Participation is voluntary, allowing kids to either join in or enter the space slowly.
Warm-Up
Carefully crafted warm-up activities designed to enhance mobility and strength. These warm-ups involve accessing various ranges of motion and weight-bearing exercises in multiple planes to prepare the body for the session ahead.
Strength Session
The core of our session includes teaching basic strength patterns such as squatting, pushing, pulling, and hinging. We also incorporate gymnastic patterns like jumping, tumbling, and calisthenics to build overall physical strength and coordination.
Game Time
To build community and foster social interaction, we dedicate time to a group game. This activity not only promotes teamwork but also adds an element of fun to our session.
Positive Mindset Session
Each session concludes with a 10-minute segment focused on positive mindset and emotional wellness. We discuss the importance of a growth mindset and strategies for emotional regulation to help children develop resilience and a positive outlook.
Afternoon Activities
Varied activities, including yoga, dance, meditation, ninja games, and traditional sports. These sessions provide a holistic approach to physical development.
This schedule is designed to offer a balanced mix of structured activities, free play, arts and crafts, ensuring that each child has a fulfilling and enjoyable experience at PhysioKids Summer Camp.
